Born and raised in Detroit, Charlie is now an executive chef in New York City. Finding a quiet moment from the bustling streets of NYC in a local coffee shop, Charlie expresses the importance of food and how “Sharing a meal with someone is something that you always remember.”

We joined Eny in her studio, the natural light bouncing off the array of colours. As a furniture and lighting designer in Brooklyn, she tells us “It’s hard to create an emotional connection with a product that’s not living. If you understand the story behind it or how it was put together it creates this emotional connection.”

Cycling to his workshop, we spent time learning the process of metal fabrication and the array of metal structures he is currently working on. After growing up in California, his father encouraged him to learn how to fix things for himself. Now living in New York, Neil describes his work as problem-solving. "You're coming up with solutions and when you figure it out, especially when you figure out something new and you have an aha moment, that's always pretty rewarding."

Running along the iconic skyline of New York, Erica talks about her perfect run along the water. "Water is just, you know, it’s calming. Water represents the vast, never-ending possibilities.” She describes running as an escape from her busy life and a chance to find community.
