Dealer relationship information Information about your relationships with our authorised dealers, including employment information.
Technical information Information collected automatically when you use our website, including your device operating system, IP address, device ID, location, browser type and version, referral source(s), length of visit, page views and website navigation paths, as well as information about the timing, frequency and pattern of your website, and other log file data.
Call recordings Recordings of calls to the Barbour Customer Services Department.
CCTV footage Video and photographs of you and your car number plate, captured when you are visiting our premises and car parks.

How Long We Retain Your Personal Data

We will retain your personal data only for so long as it is required for the purpose or purposes for which it was collected, as detailed in the table below.

Contact information Up to 3 years from the date of the last communication between us, unless it forms part of customer account data, in which case it will be deleted in accordance with the provisions below.

Customer information Up to 3 years from the date of your last order.

If you ask for your personal data or account to be deleted before then, we will delete your customer information, usually within 7 days following your request, save to the extent we are required to retain it under applicable law.

However, if you provide us with a review of our products or services, we will retain the review for the period of publication, plus a period of 7 years following the last publication of the review.

In addition, we may retain a record of any request from you to unsubscribe to our marketing material for an indefinite period – so we can continue to respect your wishes and not contact you further.
Financial information We will retain financial information only if you request that we do so for the purpose of facilitating future payments. Any copies of financial information will be deleted after 10 years following their last use.
Dealer relationship information As per customer information.
Technical information Up to 3 years following collection
Call recordings Up to 12 months following the date of recording
CCTV footage 30 days following the date of recording

We will delete (or in some cases anonymise) your personal data at or promptly following the end of the relevant retention period stated here, unless we have a legal obligation, or are required by our applicable accounting standards, to keep it longer. Data may be retained, for example, for the purposes of maintaining tax records or dealing with product recalls or other regulatory matters.

Transferring Personal Data Outside the UK

We aim to retain all of your personal data within the United Kingdom (UK) although, given the global nature of some of our service providers and retail presence, there may be occasions where it is necessary to transfer your personal data outside the UK.

When required to do so, we will ensure this is performed in accordance with legal requirements and that appropriate measures are in place to protect your personal data.

Customer relationship management services Our customer relationship management (CRM) service providers store customer information and we use their services to help us to create, tailor and execute our marketing, campaigns, surveys and competitions, and to provide us with crucial data insights.
Communications services Customer information is stored and processed by our email and other communications services providers. Call recordings are also held by these providers.
Delivery and returns services Contact information and certain customer information will be passed to our address verification providers, delivery services providers and returns handling providers, enabling us to confirm addresses and to manage and make deliveries and to handle returns.
Payment services Financial information and certain customer information will be collected and processed by our payment services providers (our current provider is Adyen; to find out more about how Adyen handles your personal data, see: https://www.adyen.com/en_GB/privacy-policy).
Hosting and technical processing services Our hosting infrastructure providers and data warehouse providers will store and process customer information and technical information. Specialist services providers process this information to provide our catalogue feeds, user review system and cookies solution.
Web analytics services Our analytics services providers help us to analyse customer information and technical information to assist with understanding customer activity on our website (e.g. through the use of tracking technology).
Advertising services Customer information and technical information is shared with our advertising partners and may be used by our advertising partners to display targeted and tailored advertising (see our Cookie Policy for more details).
Insurers and professional advisers Our insurers and our legal and other professional advisers may handle your personal data insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes of obtaining or maintaining insurance coverage, managing risks, obtaining professional advice.

Service providers appointed to act on our behalf will only be allowed to use your information in the way in which we instruct them and as permitted by applicable laws.

If a delivery services provider is unable to make a successful delivery, the courier may take an image of your front door so that we can show you an attempted delivery was made. This image is used only to record the fact that delivery was attempted

We may also share customer information with an authorised dealer of Barbour if you have ordered goods or services from Barbour via the same authorised dealer. This might occur for example where you have requested a repair or reproof of your item at one of Barbour’s authorised dealers. Sharing your personal data will be required in order to perform your requested service.

We may share your personal data with other companies in our group, where this is required to fulfil an order or for internal administrative purposes.

We may disclose your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation or to prevent fraud.

We may occasionally share or transfer your personal data to the extent reasonably necessary to conduct or complete any corporate transaction involving our business.

We may occasionally work with selected partners to undertake promotional activities. We will not assume you have given us the right to share your personal data with selected partners and will always obtain your express consent before sharing any of your personal data.

Children’s Privacy

You must be at least 16 years old to use our website.

We do not intentionally collect personal information from children under the age of 16.

These rights are subject to a range of conditions and limitations. For example, whilst you may have rights to object to processing, or request that your data be erased, we are required by law to retain some personal data.

Complaints
