This Spring/Summer '18 Barbour has launched a new range of women’s and men’s lightweight waxed cotton jackets designed to be lighter, easier to wear and more comfortable in spring and early autumn, but with all the benefits of the waxed cotton garments you already know.
Each jacket is crafted from a new lightweight waxed cotton, with similar protection from rain and wind as the original fabric.
For our SS18 Lightweight Wax campaign, over the next few week’s we’ll be meeting two artists as they take on the challenge of creating a sculpture to communicate the lightness of the collection using the fabric from our lightweight wax jackets range.
Zack McLaughlin
We catch up with Zack McLaughlin who creates nature inspired sculptures from mixed media, mainly using paper and wood.
Creating each bird as realistically as he can, we see what he has designed using our very own Barbour lightweight wax material.
Abigail Brown
Next we meet Abigail Brown, an illustrator and artist based in London. Working from her studio Abigail creates sculptures of animals, each one crafted by hand using fabric or paper-mâché to ensure each piece is unique. We catch up with her about her designs using our lightweight wax fabric.
