SPRING SUMMER 2019
Combining Barbour’s time-honoured archive with Daiki Suzuki’s military inspired features and practical details, the Barbour x Engineered Garments collection explores lightweight outerwear that’s durable and practical in equal measure.

Designed in collaboration with Japanese-born, American-inspired designer, Daiki Suzuki, this collection offers a re-work on favourites from 125 years of Barbour. Jackets from as far back as 1930 are re-imagined using the designer’s passion for preppy American style mixed with military, work wear and outdoor sports.

The Barbour Warby pop-over parka jacket takes its cues from the archive Longshoreman smock, it’s closed from the waist down and features a pull-on popper fastening, stand collar and fixed hood.

The South jacket takes inspiration from the original Beacon riding coat which dates back to 1930, reminiscent of the original design it’s got a storm flap, a large back vent and wider silhouette to give you more flexibility and ease of movement.

For an authentic military aesthetic, the Thomspon jacket offers a re-work of the archived Cowen Commando design, with multiple pockets, draw cords and a cotton buggy lining to make it more breathable in warm weather.

Lightweight options that you can layer up in any season include the Graham jacket which harks back to a classic MA-1 bomber design, and the Arthur gilet which combines Engineered Garments' vest design with the Barbour Westmorland gilet to give it a modern update.

Cut for oversized fits and crafted from lightweight, breathable, coated cotton, the collection effortlessly combines Barbour’s outerwear expertise with Suzuki’s attention to detail, tonal trims, zip tapes and draw cords for the perfect combination of tradition and modernity.
