Christmas Market Roundup 2024 with Barbour People

The festive season is just around the corner, and the excitement of Christmas is starting to fill the air! Imagine the sound of jingle bells, the sight of twinkling lights and the cosy scent of mulled wine - all elements that make this year's Christmas markets truly special. These markets are a beloved tradition across the nation, and as city centres prepare for the holiday hustle and bustle, we're here to get you ready! 

We've curated some of the most delightful Christmas markets this year to celebrate the season. Plus, we'll highlight a few places our Barbour People team will visit this season. So, settle down, prepare that cup of hot chocolate and start planning for a Christmas filled with magic.

Manchester

Get ready for the Manchester Christmas Markets 2024, returning with even more festive cheer! Running from 8th November to 22nd December, the markets will take over iconic locations like Albert Square, Cathedral Gardens and St. Anne Square, featuring over 200 stalls packed with a wonderful mix of local artisans and international vendors. 

This year you can look forward to an array of delicious treats and watch Manchester transform into a winter wonderland filled with Christmas cheer. There will also be cosy outdoor bar areas where you can enjoy festive drinks while soaking up the lively atmosphere. Be sure to wrap up in your Barbour best- whether that's, a jacket, an overshirt or a winter jumper as the Barbour team will be enjoying the festive fun in Manchester on 18th December.

Bath

The Bath Christmas Market is back for 2024, bringing festive cheer to the city from November 28th to Sunday 15th December. Set in the heart of Bath, the market will feature over 150 charming wooden chalets, nestled against the stunning backdrop of Bath Abbey and historic Roman Baths. It's also a great opportunity to find that perfect Christmas gift for family or friends, with a range of unique, handcrafted items from small independent businesses offering everything from jewellery and clothing to decorations.

Edinburgh

Next, we're heading to Edinburgh's Christmas Markets, a truly magic winter destination running from 17th November to 5th January. The markets transform East Princes Street Gardens into a dazzling winter wonderland. With over 80 stalls, it offers a truly festive atmosphere. From toys and jewellery to Scottish crafts and homewares, the market offers a variety of wonderful products. 

For thrill-seekers, the market is home to Scotland's largest Ferris wheel, standing at an impressive 46m tall. Hop aboard for a unique bird's-eye view of the city's historic skyline. You can also enjoy an exciting selection of rides, including the Helter Skelter and the dazzling Starflyer. 

We can't get enough of Edinburgh, especially at Christmas time, and the Christmas Market is at the heart of it all. That's why Barbour People will be visiting on 4th December. Make sure to wear your favourite Barbour piece, and you could even be featured on our Barbour People's Christmas page! 

York

York is a truly magical city at Christmas, with their Christmas market running from 14th November to 22nd December. The market transforms Parliament Street and St Sampson's Square into a winter wonderland, filled with over 100 traditional wooden stalls. York's charming streets are lined with independent shops, so you will easily fit in a spot of Christmas shopping for those special gifts. Don't miss the chance to explore York Minster, beautifully lit up for the season, it is a delightful stroll through the charming streets of this historic city.
