Q. What does this care kit do?

The Barbour Quilted Jacket Care Kit is your go-to solution for cleaning and reproofing quilted jackets, helping them perform like new.

It includes a breathable wash-in cleaner that removes dirt, odours, and everyday grime while refreshing the fabric’s appearance and performance.

After cleaning, the wash-in proofer ensures your jacket stays warmer and drier for longer with its waterproofing qualities.

Together, these products extend the life of your quilted outerwear - keeping it clean, dry, and comfortable, season after season.

Q. Can I use a normal detergent to clean before reproofing?

We recommend using the technical Quilt Cleaner included in the kit. Using a normal detergent can strip away the water repellant coating on your jacket whereas our Quilt Cleaner not only helps to clean and prepare your jacket for further reproofing but, also enhances the performance of your jacket.

Q. Will your products leave a residue on my clothing?

If these products are used according to the bottle instructions, no residue should appear on your items. Just added protection and extended wear.

Q. My jacket is damaged. Can you repair it?

Yes! Much like our Repair & Re-Wax service, we now have a Quilt for Life service which allows you to send in your Barbour quilted jacket to our South Shields factory to be carefully repaired by our expert team. Whether it’s a rip or a tear, missing studs or a broken zip, our experts will give your jacket a new lease of life.
