BARBOUR RE-ENGINEERED FOR TODAY

In celebration of the AW20 Re-engineered for Today collection, we're getting to know photographer Shini Park, writer and stylist Paula Sutton, and working mum/fashion & interiors enthusiast Kavita Mehta. We joined them in the great outdoors to find out more about their style, what inspires them, and how they live the Barbour Way of Life.

Military

Taking influence from Barbour’s military past, the Military Edit is inspired by iconic archive garments including the Ursula suit which was first introduced during World War 2 after a commission request from British submarine officer Captain George Phillips. All styles feature belted or drawstring waist detailing, plus the longer length styles in the collection have warm faux fur hoods to create a unique and contemporary take on the traditional Barbour wax jacket.

Quilt

Influenced by a hybrid of our iconic Liddesdale jacket and our core wax heritage, this quilted collection of Barbour wax jackets is the aesthetic of modern-day Barbour. Using a hybrid of new methods of craftsmanship with archive styling and fabrics, the collection includes new baffle down wax styles with elegant faux fur detail hoods and new diamond quilt waxes to create a perfectly modern collection.

Country

The Country Edit is inspired by Barbour’s country heritage and influenced by the iconic Bedale and Beadnell, originally designed for rural living. The collection is lined in oversized tartan designs or luxurious short pile faux fur for added warmth. These new country silhouettes are a modern and contemporary take on Barbour’s enduring rural heritage.

Parka

The Parka Edit consists of a versatile collection of new parka styles inspired by the classic Durham jacket from the Barbour archive. Jackets range in warmth and weight from lightweight quilt linings to luxury shearling linings. Highlighting Barbour’s distinctive Durham features, traditional parka details are also featured within this range through exaggerated fishtail hems and drawcord waist adjusters.
