Barbour Way of Life
Episode 21: Leave the Kettle On.
Sometimes, all you need is a taste of home.
That familiar plate that takes you back. On the vibrant streets of New York’s Greenwich Village, Nicky Perry created just that for Brits all over New York. Welcome to Tea & Sympathy; the city’s answer to a good cup of tea since 1990. Here, the scones are served with a side of British charm, the beans on your full English taste just like they’re supposed to, and you’ll find a meal that transports you back to childhood kitchens, family rituals, and moments that stay with you long after they’ve passed.
Now, Nicky’s daughter Audrey is guiding the next chapter. Having grown up within these walls, Audrey understands that her mum built not just a restaurant, but a feeling; one of belonging, nostalgia and connection. Here, she preserves everything that has made Tea & Sympathy the institution it is now, while carrying her mum’s legacy forward for a new generation. Step inside a beloved corner of New York, that feels like home for everyone who walks through its door.
