Introducing Laura Pashby; Writer and Photographer from Circle of Pines, who's passion lies in sharing small stories that bring to life the world around her. Born and bred in Devonshire, she is spoilt for choice when it comes to walking.

Laura’s favourite coastal walks will always be along the Devon coast, something she highly recommends. If staying close to home in Gloucestershire, the local woods are a uniquely different scenic experience, with the stunning landscape changing from season to season.

Some of the best walks for Laura are where she can see and hear the ocean. The seascapes of Devon are constantly changing, due to the light, the weather, the time of day, and Laura is never happier than when walking beside the sea. Down on the beach, or up on the cliffs, as long as the waves can be seen and the aroma of salty air surrounds her.

These walks could not be complete without Laura's favourite walking companions, her family, her best friend and her beautiful dog Chaika - it’s a great chance to chat to those she loves best. Packing for the walks is essential including delicious picnic snacks and a camera to capture all the best sights on these adventures.

It’s vital to have the correct footwear for these walks especially the longer trails with the correct durability, practicality, comfort and style is something Laura notes is essential. Laura favour’s wellingtons because they cope with even the muddiest conditions underfoot.

Find out exactly what Laura had to say about her favourite SS17 Barbour Footwear…

Barbour Biker Wellington Boots are simply brilliant because they’re easily pulled on over jeans, they’re comfy and they add an edgy touch to any outfit, whilst keeping my feet dry. They’re my choice for long walks, clifftop strolls and rainy mornings”.

“The Barbour Jamie Chelsea Boots are a style classic which fit with so many different outfits. Having tested them on the beach, they’re also excellent for keeping my feet dry on more adventurous excursions”.

“The Barbour Naomi Loafers are so comfy and quick to slip on. They’d be my choice for school pick up, for when I’m nipping out for a coffee, or popping into the garden to cut a few flowers for the mantelpiece”.

Barbour Natalie Cupsole Trainers are weekend perfection. They work so well with a pair of jeans and a relaxed knit, just the thing for a mooch around the farmer’s market and a pub lunch”.

Laura believes in “all truly great thoughts are conceived when walking”, with much inspiration coming from the natural environment around her. She adds that the time spent out walking gives a real sense of perspective, and it always leaves her refreshed and inspired.
