Barbour x Hikerdelic

From Peak to Precinct with Hikerdelic
autumn winter 2019

A collection that effortlessly intertwines classic Barbour silhouettes with Hikerdelic’s innovative, retro-inspired mountain wear, the Barbour x Hikerdelic capsule takes bold, block colours, capacious pockets, and traditional details that take you effortlessly from ‘peak to precinct’.

Proper Mag and Hikerdelic were created by Co-Founders, Neil Summers, and Mark Smith. Both grew up in Stockport, equidistant from the steep limestone valleys of the Peak District, and the metropolitan city of Manchester, both of which influenced the early years of the brand in the creation of Proper Magazine. Co-Founder Mark Smith told us about how the brand came together and involved, and how they came to work with us here at Barbour...

Barbour x Hikerdelic Whitworth Waxed Cotton Jacket

“Hikerdelic was born after a throwaway tweet while traveling through the Peak District one Sunday morning. We discussed releasing product with that name for far too long, eventually running some limited t-shirts which sold out double-fast. A while later we asked an illustrator friend called Daren Newman to create us a logo, giving us something to hang our hat on.

While forming Hikerdelic we continued to create content for people via Proper Magazine, and it was through a chance conversation with Barbour's Head of Menswear Ian Bergin, the possibility of a collaboration came about. The genius of Gary Janes was plugged into the project and he very quickly got what Hikerdelic. Combining that with the aesthetic Barbour is so well known for created the perfect combination of both brands, culminating in a capsule collection we're so proud to be a part of.”
