To celebrate the launch of our AW17 Weather Comfort collection we invited Zoe De Pass of blog ‘dresslikeamum’ to join us on a get away to Middleton Lodge. Discover what she got up to and what pieces she chose from the collection to test drive…
I am a big fan of British heritage brands so when Barbour (one of the finest and oldest of them all) invited me to spend a couple of days at the beautiful Middleton Lodge in North Yorkshire to celebrate the launch of their new Weather Comfort range - I jumped at the chance.
The Weather Comfort range focuses on style, practicality and weather protection and we spent the day putting it to the test.
After a good night's sleep (the beds are so comfortable at Middleton Lodge) and a delicious breakfast we set out for a walk in the woods. I love countryside walks at this time of the year - the leaves are starting to change colour and the air is fresh and bright.
We walked over bridges, through woodland and fields with perfectly rolled straw bales. We enjoyed uninterrupted views, great conversations and fresh Yorkshire air.
From the walk we headed to one of the most beautiful walled gardens i’ve ever seen - it was full of colourful flowers, fresh vegetables and buzzing bees. Middleton Lodge’s head chef and chief gardener gave us a tour and we picked ingredients and vegetables for our lunch - which he later demonstrated how to cook.
Our afternoon was spent playing croquet and riding the new Barbour + Brompton bicycles around the stunning Middleton Estate. And our evening was spent chatting and keeping cosy around fire pits before feasting on a winter BBQ.
Zoe wore our Barbour Stratus Waterproof Jacket styled with our Barbour Freestone Tunic.
My outfit definitely passed the test - I’m wearing the yellow Barbour Stratus Waterproof Jacket and absolutely loved it. I’m a big fan of a bright coat especially a functional, practical one - so this jacket ticked all the boxes. It has enough pockets for my sunglasses and phone, the length is great - I like how it covers the tops of my legs. It is comfortable, hard wearing, waterproof, durable and will last for years. I’m looking forward to testing it out in London next.
