Baracuta
“When Barbour asked us to collaborate on this project, I had dozens of ideas in mind. Then, as our design team worked together, the concept became increasingly clear, until it was fully defined. The setting would be music, which has always played a significant role within Baracuta, as it is a brand that has always been "adopted" by subcultures and youth movements."
- Luigi, Baracuta Brand Manager

GANNI
For their take on the Liddesdale, Ganni has added some of their iconic and instantly recognisable features. Elevated velvet bows from their Bow shirt replace Barbour studs and Ganni’s signature frill collar has been oversized and created in corduroy to dramatic effect. Short in length, it has an added detachable flounce with a hidden zip. Waxed tartan elbow patches give a nod to Barbour’s Scottish roots. This is a jacket full of contrasts - playful, confident and fun to wear.

David Gandy
"When tasked with a design for Barbour’s iconic Liddesdale Jacket I based it entirely on uniqueness; I wanted a truly one-of-a-kind design that I had never seen before. The idea came when I was unclipping the tonneau (the protective cover) off of my classic 1954 Jaguar XK120. When driving you are open to the elements and the tonneau is stored away. So I thought about a versatile jacket design whereby you could simply fasten a protective cover, or cloak, over the inner Barbour you are already wearing when you are driving to protect yourself from the elements. Then when you stop driving, you unfasten the cloak in the same moment you reattach the tonneau to the car."
- David Gandy, Model and Founder & Creative Director of Wellwear

Paul Smith
“Being able to create a unique piece for the 30th anniversary of Barbour’s legendary Liddesdale Jacket was a fun project to be part of. It’s wonderful being able to celebrate another icon of British design!”
- Sir Paul Smith

The Brompton Quilt
In a celebration of British style and the joy of the journey, the Barbour x Brompton Liddesdale pays homage to the bike. A lightweight Liddesdale bike poncho, this jacket covers not only the cyclist but also the bike, allowing ease of movement when cycling. The very cool and innovative bike muffs protect both the hands and the handlebars. Two large pockets on the poncho are great for essentials and there’s a quilted storage bag to fold the jacket into when not in use. Like the Brompton bike, it’s a jacket you can take anywhere.

Shaun the Sheep - Aardman
"Following the success of our 2023 Christmas campaign, we were delighted to bring Shaun the Sheep to Barbour's iconic Liddesdale jacket. Our design team relished at the opportunity to create a re-loved fashion piece inspired by the iconic qualities of Shaun - it just had to be wool!"
– Rachael Peacock, Senior Brand Manager at Aardman.

JB Gill - A hug in a jacket
“My re-loved Liddesdale and Gilet is all about comfort and Love - It effortlessly bridges the gap between countryside and city. My inspiration for the handwarmer pockets was to take the warmth and comfort associated with a quilt and share it with a loved one. Whether it’s a child embracing a parent from behind or a wife embracing their partner from the front, my Liddesdale is always able to give the perfect hug, whatever the circumstance."
- JB Gill, Presenter, Farmer, Singer/Songwriter

Ben Fogle
TV presenter, writer, adventurer and long-time friend of Barbour, Ben Fogle loves to spend time in the outdoors, exploring nature and everything it has to offer. His take on the Liddesdale is inspired by the Boy Scouts and the outdoor skills they learn from fire building and wilderness survival to outdoor cooking and camping by the fire. Ben’s Liddesdale quilt is covered in authentic Boy Scout badges and comes with an accompanying bag to celebrate those who learn new skills and become confident in their ability to succeed no matter what the challenge.

Engineered Garments
Renowned for their design, craftsmanship, functionality and fun, Engineered Garments was founded by Japanese designer Daiki Suzuki in New York in 1999. Their take on the Liddesdale is multi-faceted with plenty of zip and stud detail options. In a clever garment construction with meticulous attention to detail, the Engineered Garments Liddesdale quilt can easily be worn across different looks to express the wearer’s personal style. The back and arm vents are bespoke and add a unique interpretation and elevation to the simplicity of the Liddesdale quilt.

Karlmond Tang
“Being provided the opportunity to create a one-off of such an iconic British jacket was such a privilege. I wanted to keep all the DNA of the jacket intact as much as possible, which meant keeping the diamond quilt, the corduroy collar and its purpose as an easy-going, throw-on jacket. I thought of alternate shapes where nylon really sings and that led me to the bomber jacket. By cropping it, repurposing excess corduroy for the waist and cuffs, and moving the existing pockets up, we create a stylised version of a very recognisable jacket. We took it one step further by adding a statement reverse layer and rotated a deadstock Barbour tartan to mirror the diamond quilt"
- Karlmond Tang, Creative Director and Stylist

Claire Richardson
Stylist, fashion consultant and founder of Reluxe, Clare Richardson has created a longer length Liddesdale with a slightly longer back and soft curved edges with a small side split. Underneath the outer quilt is a vintage denim jacket to create a second layer. Stylish and on trend, this is a feminine take on the Liddesdale quilt.

ROKSANDA
Serbian-born Roksanda Ilincic is a luxury designer renowned for her bold use of colour and oversized silhouettes. Her quilt design is no less dramatic in a bold red with chest pockets and a belt that flatters the waist. The quilt comes with a red layered skirt and wide collar to create a unique style demonstrating how this quilt style can be used as part of an outfit for a dinner party or a red-carpet occasion.
