Designed by British actor and Global Brand Ambassador Sam Heughan in partnership with our design team, Sam’s first signature collection is inspired by his Scottish roots and love of the outdoors.
Born close to the farm where our founder, John Barbour grew up, Sam’s collection reflects his personal style through a collection of jackets, shirts and knitwear that brings together his specially chosen fabrics of wax, wool, tweed and herringbone in a unique collection.
“Being Scottish, I grew up with the brand and have always been a big fan - being born in the same rural area as John Barbour, in the south of Scotland.” - Sam Heughan
Taking inspiration from Barbour’s tartan heritage since 1894, stand out menswear pieces include the Spynie wax jacket, with its tailored silhouette and tweed lining around the collar; rich in quality with leather trimmed cuffs and the Kirkfell jumper, in luxurious, soft lambswool with Barbour’s signature tartan elbow patches.
Sam has also created a womenswear capsule with the Castlebay wax jacket with its leather trims and flattering slim fit, is a highlight in the range. Wear it with the tartan blanket draped over the shoulder in true highland style.
The breath-taking campaign images of Sam set against landscapes with heathers underfoot, were shot in the beautiful hills surrounding Glen House, in the Scottish borders, between Sam’s home town and our headquarters in South Shields.
