Wearing our latest SS17 Weather Comfort collection was Photographer, Alexandra Lhermite-Schwass, who took a day trip with us to Richmond Park in London. As Alexandra tested out the collection, we put together our plans for a great day trip…
Spanning over 40 acres of woodland, is the ever popular Isabella Plantation, housing many plants and flowers providing a breath-taking spectacle, especially in the early summer months. The plantation boasts evergreen Azaleas that sit by the ponds and streams, also in the garden you can find the National Collection of Wilson 50 Kurume Azaleas that during late April and early May are a must see attraction. The gardens are full of unusual trees, shrubs and collections of Rhododendrons and Camellias – providing interest all year round.
If you’re lucky enough on your day out at Richmond Park, you’ll be able to snap a picture of the beautiful deer that inhabit the National Nature Reserve. The superb wildlife has been developed over a number of centuries by grazing deer, as a key area of national and international importance for wildlife conservation – Richmond Park provides the perfect location to support a variety of wildlife.
King Henry’s Mound
To find the most stunning views around stop off at King Henry’s Mound. Offering views of the Thames Valley to the west and to the east sits the remarkable St. Paul Cathedral. King Henry’s Mound is now protected, meaning no new buildings can obstruct this picturesque location.
When Alexandra visited Richmond Park she prepared for the unpredictable British weather and wore our Barbour Cirruss Waterproof Jacket. Inspired by our iconic Barbour Durham, this lightweight waterproof jacket features a detachable hood, an adjustable waist and stud-close patch pockets – perfect for all eventualities on a day out adventuring!
