To launch Barbour's Dress Tartan collection for Spring Summer 2014, press from top global publications such as Le Figaro in France and Elle Magazine in the US joined Barbour in Scotland in January to learn more about our tartan heritage.
The event kicked off with one of the most authentic Scottish experiences you can possibly have - a Burns Night Supper at Edinburgh's beautiful Prestonfield House, where our Chairman Dame Margaret Barbour and Vice Chairman Helen Barbour both led proceedings. Haggis was eaten and enjoyed by all! The dinner provided the perfect backdrop in which to present the Spring Summer Dress Tartan collection, with Barbour's Head of Menswear Ian Bergin on hand to talk through the design inspirations behind the knitwear, shirts, accessories and jackets in our Spring Summer Dress Tartan collection.
The following day, we visited tartan specialists, Kinloch Anderson, who helped developed the Barbour tartan sett. Helen Barbour worked closely with Kinloch Anderson to develop Barbour's official tartan, so she was able to share this story with press whilst Deirdre Kinloch Anderson explained the history behind tartan.
