After a few months of typically wintry weather here in the UK, we welcomed some rare and very appropriate sunshine on the day of our Spring Summer 2014 Beacon Heritage press launch in London.

For Spring Summer 14, Barbour’s Beacon Heritage collection continues its collaboration with Savile Row tailor, Norton & Sons under the creative direction of Patrick Grant. The pinnacle of Barbour’s men’s collections, Beacon Heritage commands clean, simple lines and authoritative cut, combined with rugged and functional materials.

This season sees a burst of colour inspired by the off duty wear of traditional fishing  communities and the colours of old fishing boats seen in small harbours up and down the dramatic Northumbrian coastline.  To highlight the nautical inspiration behind the new Spring Summer collection, press were transported by boat to The Narrow Pub, where they then viewed the collection in full in a setting that overlooked the Thames.

Elizabeth Okaroh from our Menswear Design teamed joined Patrick Grant of Norton and Sons to talk through the collection, explaining the inspiration behind the nautical striped jumpers and the statement jackets.

If you’re in the mood for some summertime brightness, the SS14 Beacon Heritage collection is now available to purchase here.
