Born 24th March 1930, Steve McQueen was a legend of the big screen, starring in iconic films of the 1960’s and 70’s.
The King of Cool’s life as an actor and passion for motorcycling were often entwined. In 1964 Steve McQueen raced in the International Six Day Trials with his movie stunt rider friend Bud Eakins, all the time wearing a Barbour International jacket. Motorcycling and racing also featured in many of his films, such as The Great Escape, Le Mans, and Bullitt.
“I’m not sure if I am an actor who races, or a racer who acts”
