Hello! We're Steve and Alexia Booker; fashion, travel and lifestyle bloggers. Today, we’re taking over the Barbour blog to tell you about a coastal treasure in our very own back garden - Brighton!
Brighton is the perfect coastal escape, away from the everyday hustle and bustle of city life - perfect for enjoying the slower pace by the English seaside.
If you’re planning to visit Brighton, the first place to start your day is, without a doubt, the iconic Brighton pier.
Grab yourself a colorful deck chair, sit back, and soak up the off-beat vibes. Brighton is renowned for its alternative, cultural and artistic influences so people watching here is always great fun.
If you’re visiting Brighton you have to make your way to the Lanes; this warren of alleys is filled with independent shops awaiting discovery. Selling everything from interesting homewares at Tidy Street General Store to crazy antiques in Snooper’s Paradise. There’s always a great bustling atmosphere and there’s so much to see!
The past two decades has seen a foodie revolution taking place thanks to a series of events, pop-ups and street food markets, winning a series of gastronomy awards as trends trickle out from London down to the coast.
We made our way through the lanes to one of our favorite: Silo, where we stopped for lunch. Silo is a zero waste restaurant, even the furniture you sit on has been up-cycled. If you’re looking for an interesting place for an all day breakfast or a risotto with a twist, you’ve come to the right place!
We then headed back down to the beach to stop at our favorite ice cream stop: Boho Gelato on the way. If you’re stuck on which flavor to choose you won’t be disappointed with the salted caramel! You just can’t beat an ice cream by the sea!
Alexia wore our Barbour Summer Solway Wax Jacket & our Barbour Cross Back Crew Neck Jumper.
As our day came to an end, we strolled through the gardens of the Royal Pavilion, an opulent 18th century palace. Before making our way to our final pit stop before the drive home; The Flour Pot bakery where we enjoyed a slice of cake and a coffee. An indulgent way to end a great day.
