In celebration of our #BarbourFootwear collection for SS17, we’ve discovered some of Laura Pasby’s favourite walking routes. As a photographer, her favourite time of the day for walking is the on a sunny day during ‘the golden hour’ - the hour just after sunrise or before sunset, when the light takes on a golden glow, and the landscape is bathed in soft light.
Laura explains that there really is no bad time to go for a walk - there’s always something to see, and she always feels better for having spent time in the fresh air.

Without further ado, here are some of Laura’s favourite walking locations…
Devon Coast - Exmouth to Sandy Bay
“As a child, I used to walk with my family along the distinctive red cliffs from Exmouth to Sandy Bay and on to Burleigh Salterton.”
North Devon Beaches at Saunton and Putsborough
“Nowadays, I prefer my coast lines a little wilder, so I’m more likely to make a trip to North Devon to visit my best friend.”
“With her dogs and my children, we explore the beaches at Saunton and Putsborough, or walk along the cliffs around Baggy Point.”
‘If I’m staying close to home in Gloucestershire, I love to walk in the local woods, especially on misty mornings. Mist lends such gentle mystery to even the most familiar of places.’
In case you missed our last #BarbourFootwear blog with storyteller and photographer, Laura Pashby, she revealed her top tips for getting the most out of your walks.
