For over a century, Barbour’s relationship with the country and countryside pursuits has helped inspire and define designs.
This autumn sees the launch of Barbour Sporting, a new shooting collection designed by Vice Chairman Helen Barbour together with Lord James Percy, who has worked with Barbour since 2004 and is widely thought of as one of the best shots of his generation.
“When I decided to create Barbour Sporting, like many of my family before me, I looked to Barbour’s heritage as inspiration for the future,” Helen Barbour explained. "Silhouettes remain classic while the fabrics are more high-end and technical than ever before. Outdoor favourite GORE-TEX® is unrivalled for its ability to keep out water and wind while remaining breathable, dry and comfortable. This high-tech fabric features through three of the jackets, including the standout Sporting Ultimate 3-in-1, which can be worn in various different ways to suit the day."
The collection also introduces a new sporting tartan, featured on two jackets, waistcoat, trousers and cap, for the traditional look with all the benefits of modern fabrics and tailoring.
This season isn’t just about durable outer layers. The choice of gilets, quilts, fleeces, sweaters and longer-length sporting tattersall shirts mean all seasons are covered – from balmy August days to chilly winter mornings.
